!Call for action

Bizchut, the Human Rights Center for People with Disabilities in Israel together with the Clinical Legal Education Center at the Hebrew University and The Center for Disability Studies at the Hebrew University drafted and sent a call to action signed by 23 disability advocacy organizations to the International Red Cross. Together with the Clinical Legal Education Center at the Hebrew University, Bizchut wrote a call to action to the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the UN Office of Human Rights, on behalf of the Hostages and Missing Families Forum and 34 disability advocacy organizations for the immediate release of all the hostages, among them people with disabilities. Pending their release, we called on these agencies to ascertain where they are being held, establish contact with them, and ensure their security and well-being, including the provision of full medical and caregiving support.

Here are attached three letters : The response of Red Cross organization ; The statement published by the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (the CRPD Committee);  The response of the Israeli delegation in Geneva to the statement from the CRPD Committee.
We continue our efforts on the issue and will update soon.
