Board of Trustees

Bizchut is led by a Board of Trustees comprised of people with and without disabilities, parents of children with disabilities and professionals. The board guides Bizchut’s policies, sets its goals and discusses fundamental questions concerning activity.  All board members serve in a voluntary capacity.

President: Supreme Court Justice (emeritus) Ayala Procaccia. Justice Procaccia served on the bench of the Supreme Court from 2001 to 2011.

Board members:

  • Yoav Krime, Chair

  • Ofer Dahari: Deputy Executive Director of Shekel (Community Service for People with Special Needs). Ofer has an M.A. in clinical psychology, uses a wheelchair and is a sports enthusiast.

  • Vered Windman: Vered is the Executive Director of the National Council for the Child. She served as the Council’s Legal Counsel in the past, and leads a Program for Child Crime Victims.

  • Ari Paltiel: Ari is among the founders of Bizchut, at that time representing the Association for Civil Rights in Israel. Ari has held a senior position with the Central Bureau of Statistics and lectures on demography.

  • Yehoshua Schoffman: Yehoshua was the Legal Counsel of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel when Bizchut was founded. He subsequently joined the civil service serving, among other positions, as Deputy Attorney General (Legislation).

  • Doron Tamir: Doron chairs Bizchut’s Finance and Organization Committee. He has been practicing law since 1992 and is a partner in the Yigal Arnon and Co law firm which specializes in public tenders, infrastructure, energy and the environment. He lives in Mevasseret Zion and is married with three children.

  • Prof. Tom Gumpel of the Hebrew University School of Special Education, researches inclusion policy in Israel and abroad as well as violence and aggression within schools. Tom served as the president of the international division of the Council for Exceptional Children and as the organization’s executive director for the past five years.

  • Dr. Silvia Stieglitz has served as Head of the Training Program for Teachers of Children with Complex Disabilities at the David Yellin Academic College of Education. She lectures on disabilities at the Ono Academic College.

  • Gali Dobes Gov Ari, social activist in the field of disabilities, one of the founders of the Coalition of Parents of Children with Special Needs. Gali is a mechanical engineer, a married mother of three. Her son has a disability.
